Dysregulated cytokine expression and signaling are major contributors to a number of autoimmune diseases…. Because this mechanism also enhanced experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE) in wild-type mice, it may be a general etiologic process underlying other Th17 cell-mediated autoimmune diseases.
